Ingredients:

  • 2 C Steel Cut Oats, dry (also known as Irish oats)
  • 2 C Apples, chopped
  • 1 C Cranberries, dried, sweetened (craisins)
  • 3 C Water
  • 1 C Low fat milk
  • 1 Tbls Cinnamon, ground
  • 1 tsp Pumpkin Pie spice
  • 2 tsp Margarine
  • 1/2 C Almonds, sliced (optional)
  • 1/2 C Pecans (optional)

Directions:

  1. Grease slow cooker with margarine.
  2. Add ingredients to slow cooker, except for nuts. Stir to mix and cover.
  3. Set slow cooker to “warm” and cook for approximately 10 hours.
  4. Serve topped with nuts, sweetener of choice (maple syrup is yummy!) and additional milk, if desired.
